TOTAL FREEDOM*

Recently, bit by bit, Nature has carried me through an experience that slowly build my total freedom. What do I mean by freedom? Being independent from emotional attachments to be loved, accepted, and understood by others...even from the dearest ones...

It has been a difficult process; I was struggling sometime. But when it's over I feel more and more content of myself.

This process reminds me about one of the most beautiful quotations I have ever read...

Mother Teresa: "Do It Anyway"

The version found written on the wall in Mother Teresa's home for children in Calcutta:

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.

-this version is credited to Mother Teresa

You may wonder, what has it got to do with total freedom?
If one day, you are really able to 'do it anywa'y', to believe in yourself, without fears of negative things that other people may think or say or do to you, then you are a totally free person...
